Oh, to be a Kid!

The Middles and Littles have been adventuring further from home these days, so I finally let them drag me followed them to their latest destination of fun...

Here the troops are gathering.  Tim came along for curiousity's sake.

Then it was a short run through the cow pasture.

Notice Marianna is NOT dressed appropriately, as usual. It was kind of chilly that night.
Shhh!  Don't tell the neighbor.
The branches on the roof may or may not have come from his trees.

And here we are at the latest fort extraordinaire.

The smallest adventurer thinks he's such a big boy.

Happiness is playing "Let's Pretend".

The big brother is giving construction advice... like they really needed any?!

Nice view from here.

They even added a couple of  pallets as a floating dock on the shoreline.
Nice touch!

Then it was time to head back home (and warm Marianna up).  Brrr!
Two days later they're begging to go swimming...more on that later, though.

Marianna is just NOT the fisher gal she used to be

After just finding the perfect fishing hole and lowering the anchor on the pontoon...

Marianna declared, "Ready to go back home."

Dan's response, "No, we're busy fishing."

Then she asked, "Go to the raft?"

Again, "No, we're fishing."

Taking matters into her own hands,  "How do you start this thingy?"

So you think mid-May is plenty late to turn your outdoor boiler off...

but you're WRONG about that and now you have to wear a hat,
in order to keep from shivering while eating breakfast.

Little People Wisdom

From the 8yo..."Francis, I'm so glad you were born."

6yo's solemn response..."Yeah, me too."

Happy Mothers' Day!

Yep, this is it.  My one and only picture from yesterday...

I awoke to find SOMEBODY sleeping in my bed.
He does look comfortable, doesn't he?

Recital pics

I'm not the kind of mom who takes pictures at every recital, either I forget the camera at home or I forget to take pictures once I'm there.  This year I managed to remember both.

John Paul pounded out Chant Arab and Christmas Day Secrets.

Therese played Touch a Rainbow and Happy Farmer.

Matthew performed a duet...

and his Music Bridges suite.

Andrew received a ribbon for participating in a music theory exam.

Then he plunked out a Carulli Andantino.

Clare's last recital...she celebrated with some beautiful Japanese pieces. (The
song titles escape my memory at the moment.)

A quick snapshot of all the performers and our beloved teacher, Linda.
Great job, everybody!!
