The Big One Oh!

Johnny turned ten a few weeks ago.
Here's the recap...
we had a low key get together with grandma's and grandpa's...
and lots of sibs, too...
leftover bars from our anniversary party...
 ice cream and legos...
and cards.
Oh my!

Here's all that remains of our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration...

Therese desperately wanted to decorate for the party...
so for weeks ahead of time...
we had remnants of paper snowflakes...
everywhere!
The day of the party found me under the weather...
so Dan led the crew in some serious fruit prep.
Timothy  warmed up the mike...

and then we all took off for Mass...
these were the only two surviving pictures from the
rest of the evening...
Ah well, it will live on in our memories!

Old Christmas Pictures...

Since it's nearing the end of January, it must be time to post Christmas pictures.
Right?!

Our very own mafia guys

The Christmas Eve Dinner Table

Christmas AM...let the paper ripping begin

Found the Precious Moments nativity set trapped in our music books...
really people?

lots of sibling helpers

Johnny's joke book just about drove the older brothers crazy.

 bathrobe lovin"

little kids = awesome Christmas!

Clare earns a big hug from Francis for the adorable dress clothes she gave him.

big brother lovin'

the tool guy

The rest of the day was devoted to horrible jokes...

a bit of ice fishing...

serious board games...

and some sort of made up game in the hallway upstairs?

Francis just had to show off his dress clothes one more time...

and Miss Nonnie loves her socks!
So there you have it...
just about one month late.

Cookie Baking Day

Last Wednesday was Cookie Baking Day,
the little boys got in the spirit by making their
own nativity out of blocks...

great job, guys!
Now on to the cookies...

aprons are a must for the littles...

since they were anxious to get to work...

some more than others...

we started with the mixing...

and a little smoochin' thrown in...

some were put to work cutting up meat and cheese
for the next day's festivities...

then we called in the big guy...

to muscle the spritz gun...

the littles started in on the decorating...

obviously, more supervision would have been helpful...
(Dad claimed that was the best tasting cookie.)

we had to use a new recipe for cut outs,
since I lost my old stand by...

Timothy pronounced this one a winner, though...

Gabriel hung with us to the bitter end.
What a trooper...

while some camped out in the hallway
 half way through the day...

it always gets a little messy toward late afternoon...

On Thursday morning...

the decorating commenced...

it was a great way to start Christmas Eve!

As always, we missed you
Grandma and Grandpa.
Soak up some sun for us!
